  • The Orsay Museum: Impressionist Landscapes

    The Orsay Museum houses one of the most superb collections of 19th and early 20th century art in the world. Impressionist paintings of gardens is the focus of our visit, providing a thoughtful overview of the masterworks by Edouard Manet, Edgar Degas, and Gustav Courbet. Their paintings help us to better understand both the Impressionist and the Post-Impressionist masterpieces located on the upper floors.

  • The Orangerie Museum

    Located in the Tuileries gardens and overlooking the Place de la Concorde, the Orangerie Museum displays eight large decorative panels from Monet’s Water Lilies series. In addition to these masterworks of Impressionism, the museum houses the Jean Walter and Paul Guillaume collections of 19th and 20th century art, including works by Renoir, Cézanne, Matisse, and Picasso.

  • The Marmottan Museum

    Thanks to a donation by Claude Monet’s son, Michel, the Marmottan Museum houses the largest collection of Monet’s painted sketches for the Water Lilies series executed for the Orangerie. Monet’s landmark work, Sunrise Impressionism, is on permanent display. The museum also houses an exceptional collection of paintings by Berthe Morisot.

  • The Hôtel de la Marine at the Place de la Concorde

    This ‘palace within the city’ is a unique monument located in the center of Paris. Commissioned by Louis XV, the famed neoclassical architect Jacques Ange Gabriel conceived it as a design house to showcase French furniture and decorative arts savoir-faire. The Garde-Meuble supplied the king’s palaces with furniture, curtains, wall hangings, and decorative arts. The royal collections of armor and the crown jewels were also housed here. Closed to the public for over 225 years, today the building presents some of the best examples of 18th century interior design.

  • Paris à la Mode

    The city of light is also the city of high fashion boasting three museums dedicated to costume and haute couture designers. The Palais Gallieria, also known as the Musée de la Mode de la Ville de Paris, is a museum of fashion history that displays topical temporary exhibitions. La Galerie Dior exhibits clothes and accessories from the renowned fashion house. The Yves Saint Laurent Museum is located in YSL’s former haute couture atelier. The French designer spent over 30 years here designing his timeless collections from the 1970s until the closure of the haute couture house in 2002.

  • The Rodin Museum and Gardens

    Auguste Rodin is one of the most celebrated modern sculptors who lived and worked in an 18th century mansion, called the Hôtel Biron. The museum showcases Rodin’s sculptures in stone, bronze and plaster, as well as paintings and drawings, including works by his contemporaries Monet and Van Gogh. We devote special attention to how Rodin placed his sculptures, such as the Gates of Hell and The Thinker in the garden. Renovated by landscape architect Jacques Sgard, the garden features over 100 varieties of roses.

  • The Jacquemart André Museum: An Exceptional Legacy

    This museum tour steps back into the Belle Epoque, when aspiring young artist Nelié Jacquemart met fabulously wealthy banker Edouard André. The pair embarked on a life-long passion for collecting art that they displayed in their home. On view are paintings by 18th century French painters, including Jacques-Louis David and Elisabeth Vigée-Lebrun, and Italian masters Botticelli and Perugino, all displayed in a sumptuous setting including winter gardens, a smoking room, and private apartments.

    The Museum of Hunting and Nature is a private museum dedicated to the history of the hunt, explaining the relationships between humans and the natural environment through the traditions and practices of hunting.   • The Nissim de Camondo Museum

    The Nissim de Camondo Museum is a house museum dedicated to 18th century art and interior decoration. Founded by the Jewish collector Moise de Camondo, and named in honor of his son Nissim, who died in WWI, Moise amassed an exceptional collection of decorative arts and paintings dating from the Louis XVI period. Camondo also fitted his house with modern accommodations—a stupendous bathroom and kitchen—affording a view of 19th-century luxury.

  • The Cognacq-Jay Museum

    2 Hours

    The Cognacq-Jay Museum, a house museum in the former Hôtel Denon, has a unique collection of decorative arts objects, portraits, and furniture that evoking the savoir-faire and savoir-vivre of 18th century Paris. The tour also tells the story of Monsieur and Madame Cognac-Jay, who founded the Samaritaine department store. They lived with their collection in their private apartment until they bequethed it to the city of Paris.
